Rector 1977-1997 Frank Donnelly is a native of Darvel where he won the first Dux Prize at Darvel Junior Secondary School, an award which was presented by Sir Alexander Fleming, before transferring to Kilmarnock Academy in 1952. A graduate of Glasgow University and a history teacher, he later taught in the Academy from 1964 becoming successively Principal Teacher of History, Assistant Headteacher, Depute Rector and Rector. He wrote a history of Kilmarnock Academy which appeared in 1998 |
