Your S4 Study Schedule
The revision tips booklet (sent out with your recent school report) is not exclusively for parents. The booklet contains useful, general information related to your studying.
The revision timetable and notes for guidance provide subject specific information. If you are studying a subject where there is no information speak to your class teacher or the principal teacher of the subject for further information and advice.

REVISION |
USEFUL RESOURCES |
There is no better revision for maths than doing example questions.
Go back over past homeworks and then check your answers.
Use your notes jotter when you are stuck. Ask any maths teacher for help if there is a question which you cannot do /don't understand.
Past papers are the most important
resource for revision. Work your
way through the papers
for your level (again asking for help
and advice when necessary) then
start at the beginning again!
These papers will be the best
preparation for your actual exam.
Ask your teacher about them if
you need more information.
Attend supported study! Plenty of advice available there. Revision sheets.

Play with information to help recall knowledge e.g.
Writing a word to do with the subject often helps e.g. TRENCH
T rench foot
R ats
E nemy attacks
N asty wounds
C asualties
H orrific
Soldiers faced terrible conditions in the trench, diseases like trench foot caused by having their feet immersed in water too long and Weil's disease or typhus caused by rats. Enemy attacks led to nasty wounds and many casualties. Generally soldiers' experience of trenches was horrific.
Try mind maps, spider diagrams and timelines to help with the recall of knowledge.
To learn enquiry skills you need to practise exam-style questions. Homework will also help develop this skill. |
