Safer Internet Day (Mrs Ford)
Tuesday 8 February was Safer Internet Day. You know the rules for the safe use of the Internet but here is a quick reminder of the most important ones.
- Do not put your personal details on the Internet. You would not walk around with a large sign over your head telling everyone your personal details; don’t put them on the Internet either.
- Do not believe everything you read on the Internet, particularly personal details. Anyone can say anything at all about themselves; you have no way of knowing if it is true.
- Never arrange to meet in person someone you meet on the Internet.
- Report immediately any bullying or other material which concerns you.

We are also planning on inviting some of the elderly in the community to a wee afternoon tea. Join in the fun by coming in dressed up 1940’s style. This can be as simple as having an evacuee tag on, or a trilby hat, or a 1940’s hair style, to coming in your cadet uniform or dressed as a British service person or someone involved in the British war effort. No German soldiers please as there are people still alive who remember the horrors of the war. There will be a costume competition at lunchtime with winners from each year group who will receive a special ration!! The money raised will go towards Poppy Scotland which helps to look after servicemen and women, and their families, from all British conflicts.
